The commercial zone of Misterbianco has in recent years become a valuable asset for economic growth in the whole area. The opening and development of enormous shopping malls, shops and specialised firms, has led to increased employment in the city. The commercial zone of Misterbianco boasts of two main regional factors: extensive distribution and extensive links.

The two motorways that connect Misterbianco to Palermo and Messina, the freeways to Siracusa, Ragusa, Caltagirone and Gela together with the proximity to the port of Catania, make Misterbianco an ideal location for cargo logistics in the island of Sicily. Today, over a surface area of 81,000 m2 one finds traders, buyers and businesspeople from eastern Sicily, Calabria and Malta.

At the cutting edge of the commercial zone, are famous clothing brands, mercantile establishments, toy shops, household shops and other outlets. To meet the challenges of the growing development of the vast area, the Council administration has engaged in a series of infrastructural projects in order to make the zone even more easily accessible to the numerous customers who frequent it daily.
